The cost of mole removal ranges from INR 10,000 to INR 35,000 in Hyderabad. The cost depends on the size of the mole. Larger moles need surgical removal which is cheaper than laser mole removal, which is used on smaller moles.
Laser mole removal is not expensive and is relatively much cheaper in India as compared to the developed nations. What factors influence the cost of mole removal?
In India, moles are mostly removed in clinic settings. So additional costs which are associated by going to a hospital are not usually there. There are 3 important factors that influence the cost
Smaller moles are removed by laser technology and are usually simpler. Large moles cannot be removed by laser, or need multiple sittings for removal. Larger moles surgical excision is a more cost effective approach.

This is needed only in <2% cases and it is done when the mole is large or very deep, requiring the surgeon to remove the mole and surrounding boundaries. In such cases the skin cannot heal on its own and needs tissue from other parts to help in healing. In these cases skin grafts of partial or full thickness would be needed. Discuss this with our surgeon openly to fully understand the need and implications of skin graft after mole removal.

Tissue biopsy: This might be needed in case the doctor on removal of the mole suspects something. Sometimes moles might be a suspicious lesion, in which case the doctor might send the removed tissue to the lab for a biopsy.
The tissue biopsy cost is included in the cost of only surgical mole removal with skin graft package
No. Mole removal is a cosmetic procedure and thus cannot be covered under insurance.
In rare cases where the mole is suspicious and a biopsy is needed, in these cases insurance coverage is available. In such cases a biopsy would be mandatory and you would have to bear this additional cost. Biopsy report is important for claim settlement.
